Opel’s one of the most successful subcompact crossovers is making a comeback next year with the release of the Opel Mokka 2017 which will be an upgraded model of its predecessor, the 2013 Opel Mokka, which was released all the way back in 2012. With this release, Opel is expecting to achieve just as much success as it did with its previous model which was one of the best-selling subcompacts SUV’s last year. Given all that, people have very high expectations from Opel regarding this very efficient car. This model is expected to come in an entirely new exterior as well as interiors; but as far as performance is concerned, not much is expected to change apart from engine options and a few of the specifications.
Opel Mokka 2017: Exterior Changes and Features
Some recently released spy shots revealed that the exterior of the new Opel Mokka 2017 is getting quite a makeover. The newly redesigned exteriors, as was viewed in the spy shots, looked pretty amazing. This model is getting newly redesigned bumpers and a new grille and a pair of much better-looking headlights to go with them. Its taillights, this time, will be getting brand new LED technology just like the Astra and the Corsa models by Nissan.
Interior Upgrades and Features
This new 2017 Opel Mokka is expected to be heavily inspired by the Astra K and Corsa by Nissan. Spacious and modern interior design is what we expect to find inside this car. This car will also be having an updated version of the Intellilink Infotainment system and the OnStar Connectivity system which is among the fan favorites.
It is only hoped that they will be available across all the range of this car and not only the high-end models. The seats have also been improved in the new Mokka with high-quality plastic materials which are quite soft to give maximum comfort.
Opel Mokka 2017: Engine Specs
Not much is known about upgrades under the hood of the new Opel Mokka 2017 but we can certainly expect some performance tweaks and maybe even an introduction of a brand new engine.
This new model 2017 Opel Mokka is also expected to be lighter than its predecessor, but that is not expected to affect its performance much. A 1.6-liter VVT turbocharged engine, which will be installed in the crossover, will have 115 hp. The newer SUV may even get a 1.7-liter variant with 130 hp.
Expected fuel economy provided by this car would be close to 6.3 L/ 100 km.
Opel Mokka 2017: Expected Release Date and Price
The release of the new Opel Mokka 2017 is being planned for sometime around early 2017, but its release might happen even earlier.
