Kia Forte 2017 review, rlease date

After almost three years in the automotive market, Kia Forte is finally getting a few major updates for 2017. At Detroit Auto Show, the auto manufacturer revealed all changes to this vehicle. Apart from better exterior styling, Kia Forte 2017 will also be getting new engine and transmission options. These additions should make it more powerful and economical.

Available Trim Levels:

The Kia Forte 2017 will be available in three trim levels. Apart from EX and LX models, Kia will be adding a new S trim set. S trim will be a sporty trim, with addition of sport tuned suspension, chrome exhaust tip, daytime running lights LED, 16 inch alloy wheels, a new UVO3 infotainment system and rear spoiler. Top trim of Forte will be the EX, which will come with a premium interior.

Regardless of multiple trims available, cabin shall be luxurious, with digital conveniences and plush seats. When it comes to the interiors, an upgrade will be brought to standard cloth upholstery. Upper trim levels will be including additional features such as Apple Car Play and Android Auto, along with some active safety systems. This vehicle will also come with a host of new driver assistance features, including:

  • Smartphone connectivity.
  • Emergency braking.
  • Rear cross traffic alert.
  • Autonomous emergency braking.
  • Dynamic bending lights.
  • Front collision warning.

Available standard features of Kia Forte 2017 are:

  • Leather steering wheels and seats.
  • Power driver seat.
  • Smart key technology.
  • Dual zone climate control.
  • Seven inch color touchscreen.

Visual changes brought to this vehicle are comparatively minor, it includes, revised bumper and a corporate tiger nose grille. Taillights shall also be a bit different, and it will now offer optional LED bulbs. Headlights will also be reshaped and it will feature Dynamic Bending Light Technology available in current Kia Optima. It is an innovative technology which connects the headlights with steering wheels, thus improving visibility at curvy roads and turns.

Most significant change brought to 2017 Kia Forte is under its hood. The 1.8 liter inline 4 cylinder unit found in current model, which generates 148 HP, a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter will have a power output of 173 hp. It will be paired with either 6 speed auto or 6 speed-manual transmissions. The engine of 1.6 L will have 201 hp,

Even though Kia hasn’t yet released EPA fuel economy estimate or output information, word on the streets is that this upcoming model will have better fuel economy as compared to current model.

Kia Forte 2017: Price Tag and Release Date

Kia hasn’t revealed the exact release date of Kia Forte 2017. As of now, all you can say about its release date is that its production should start by first half of this year. The price will range from $17,000 to $21,000. Of course, price tag will be based on features chosen by customers. Different trim levels will come with different price tags, but both LX and EX trims are expected to cost nearly same as current model.
