After over 30 years of production of Chrysler Town and Country, the company has decided to introduce major changes in minivan segment by bringing a completely new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan in Detroit at North American International Auto Show. You might be familiar with this nameplate as it represented mid-size crossover of Chrysler from 2003 to 2007.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica: Fresh New Look
Wind swept profile of this vehicle is reflected by aerodynamic windshield wipers and underbody air panels. Front end of Pacifica features a contemporary Chrysler face, with lower and upper grille flowing into headlamps. The hood over upper grille has characteristic lines and gives it a clean appearance.
When it comes to sides of 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan, there is an A-line which runs from front to rear end. Lower surface character line provides a great interaction with ambient lighting. The doors will feature shorter rail tracks and redesigned center hinge. On higher models, LED lights are used for tail lamps and provide an even glow.
When new minivans were under development, several car enthusiasts were concerned that they would be too small. However, this minivan instead came with best interior volume of 200 cubic feet along with extensive storage capacity. In its segment, this vehicle offers most roomy third row in terms of leg, shoulder and head space. Just like Caravan, Pacifica is capable of carrying 8×4 four plywood sheet.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica: Powertrain Specification
The Chrysler Pacifica Minivan will be powered by an upgraded Pentastar gasoline V6 engine, and it will be first vehicle to come with 9 speed automatic transmission. There will be a hybrid configuration, which consists of dual motor EVT and Atkinson cycle V6 unit.
The upgraded gasoline V6 engine is most powerful unit for any minivan, as it is capable of generating 287 HP along with 262 lb ft of torque. Such output can only be compared to output of vehicles like Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Even though this engine has better power and features, it weighs less than previous generation of this engine. Fuel economy numbers of this improved unit is unavailable for now, but the hybrid unit will be offering as much as 80 mpg-e of mileage on city roads.
2017 Chrysler Pacifica: Price and Availability
Gas powered model of 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Minivan will go on sale in spring of 2016. Its release will be followed by the hybrid model, which will release in second of 2016. Pricing details is yet to be officially announced.
